Michael Wayne Ayers

I was born on February 23, 1957 and raised around Lake City, South Carolina, which is in the lowcountry part of the state where the mosquito is the State Bird. By being born in that part of the country, I am, of course, a “country boy”. My childhood consisted of everything a “country boy” required. This means love and respect for people, country, and God.
As far as education, I graduated from Lake City High School in 1975. Then, over the years, I acquired degrees from Francis Marion University, Florence – Darlington Technical College, Bowman Gray School of Medicine @ Wake Forest University, Southeastern Bible College, and Bethany Seminary. My degrees are in Medicine, Bible, Theology, and Counseling.
I have worked in medicine in the field of Radiology for 23 years. I, also, pastored two churches; Kingstree Second Baptist Church in Kingstree, South Carolina and New Calvary Baptist Church in Sumter, South Carolina.
Musically, I have been singing since I was saved at the age of 15, and professionally since I was 17. The Lord blessed me with many opportunities to share the Gospel in music and the Word over the last 37 years including over 30 Lay Witness Missions in the Eastern United States, appearances on PTL, and a part of the Billy Graham movie “A Time To Run”. I have, also, recorded 2 solo projects and 3 group projects with the Southern Gospel group called “New Covenant”, which I formed with Steve Milligan and Ray Poston. Through all of this, I saw many souls come to Christ, which is the only reason all of this is done.
Ecclesiastes 3: 1 – 15 speaks of trying times like I have been through, especially the last 10 years. The journey has not been smooth, as I would have liked. But, through it all, God has never left me. Ecclesiastes speaks of “a time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up; a time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance.” So many emotions.....so many tears.....so many disappointments.....and so many mistakes. But, the most important thing is that there were so many prayers and so many answers. HE never gave up on me.
Since recovering from heart, lung, and skeletal problems, I am coming out of retirement with a message for all the broken-hearted and forgotten people that are struggling through life alone and falling through the cracks of the church. I recorded this solo project that I am very excited about. There are several original songs that will minister to your heart like never before. I am looking forward to ministering full time again in concert or preaching revivals.
I cannot end this brief biography without mentioning two very special blessings the Lord gave me. I have been blessed so much by having two beautiful daughters, Amber Dorrell from Rock Hill, S.C. and Brittney Ayers from Florence, S.C. And on top of that, two grandchildren, Will and Susannah Dorrell from Rock Hill, S.C. They are in my thoughts and heart continuously. I have recently remarried and Rebecca and I are excited about our future together. Rebecca has a daughter named Erica Carr who also recorded "Bless the Broken Road" with me. She has a son Named Lance Kimbrough who lives in Wichita, KS. They are both married and We have another grandchild, a one year old, named Benjamin. He is the light of our life.
